Date Walnut Brownies

Date Walnut Brownies
Yield: 12 Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
 - 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
 - 1/2 cup sugar
 - 3 eggs
 - 1/2 cup all purpose flour sifted
 - 3/4 cup cocoa powder sifted
 - 1/2 tsp baking powder
 - 1/4 tsp salt
 - 1 cup dates pitted and chopped
 - 1 cup raw walnuts chopped
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180C).
 - Line a 9-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Put the chocolate inside a heat proof bowl.
 - Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water.
 - Melt stirring occasionally then remove from the heat and set aside.
 - In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter with the sugar until light and flufffy.
 - Add the eggs one at a time mixing after each addition.
 - Fold in the melted chocolate followed by the sifted flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
 - Finally, stir in the dates and walnuts.
 - Pour the mixture into an even layer in the prepared sheet.
 - Bake for 20/25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
 - Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
 - Cut into small squares, serve and enjoy!
